Detroit, MI — October 17, 2025. This year marked the seventh anniversary of the Talentos Latinos Awards, which have become one of the most important events for the Hispanic community in Michigan.
It was an evening filled with recognition, music, dance, and cultural pride, celebrating the effort, service, and dedication of community leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and volunteers who make a positive impact on the Hispanic community throughout the state.
The event opened with a prayer by Pastor Kevin Casillas from the First Latin American Baptist Church in Detroit, followed by an atmosphere of joy as the awards were presented to the honorees.
Organized by the Minority Education Freedom Foundation and Latinos En Michigan TV, the 2025 Talentos Latinos Awards recognized 11 men and women from different parts of Michigan in categories such as entrepreneurship, art, music, education, volunteerism, inspiration, altruism, and real estate.
Special awards were also presented to Mayté Penman, the event’s keynote speaker, for her work supporting Michigan entrepreneurs, and to Jesús Grillo, owner of La Nueva/New Opinion, the only Hispanic newspaper serving the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo areas.

Congressman Shri Thanedar also presented a special recognition to the Talentos Latinos Awards for their contribution to the community and spoke about the important role of immigrants in this country.
This year, people from Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Holland, and many other Michigan cities gathered to proudly celebrate their Hispanic heritage. The evening featured live music, folkloric dances, and artistic performances that reflected the vibrant and unifying spirit of Michigan’s Latino community.
During the event, local artists delighted the audience, including Sean Blackman and Lisa Montes, who performed a flamenco show; Joyas de México, showcasing traditional Mexican folklore; Reflejos Latinos, presenting a dance from Panama; and Juan Castañeda and Ana M. Boada, who performed a lively salsa show.
The night also featured talented local singers such as Rosalina Morales, better known as “La Güera”; Sebastián Duque; Kenya Cruz; and the rock band Los Asintomáticos.
From Holland, entrepreneur Reyna Masko shared her delicious Reyna Micheladas Mix, and artist Alberto Marín donated a painting that was raffled among the attendees.
This event also provided support to many local entrepreneurs, including DJs, photographers, and videographers, whose work helped ensure the event’s exceptional quality.

Los Premios Talentos Latinos 2025 resaltaron las contribuciones de los inmigrantes a Michigan y a los Estados Unidos

Detroit, MI — 17 de octubre de 2025. Este año se celebró el séptimo aniversario de los Premios Talentos Latinos, que se han consolidado como uno de los eventos más importantes para la comunidad hispana en Michigan.
Fue una noche llena de reconocimientos, música, danza y orgullo cultural, donde se celebró el esfuerzo, servicio y dedicación de líderes comunitarios, artistas, emprendedores y voluntarios que impactan positivamente a la comunidad hispana en todo el estado.
El evento inició con la oración del pastor Kevin Casillas, de la First Latin American Baptist Church en Detroit, y posteriormente el ambiente de alegría se encendió con la entrega de los premios a los ganadores.
Organizados por la Minority Education Freedom Foundation y Latinos En Michigan TV, los Premios Talentos Latinos 2025 reconocieron a 11 hombres y mujeres de diferentes partes de Michigan en categorías como emprendimiento, arte, música, educación, voluntariado, inspiración, altruismo y bienes raíces.
También se entregaron reconocimientos especiales a Mayté Penman, oradora principal del evento, por su labor apoyando a los emprendedores de Michigan, y a Jesús Grillo, propietario de La Nueva/New Opinion, el único periódico hispano que sirve a las áreas de Battle Creek y Kalamazoo.

La noche estuvo llena de música en vivo, danzas folclóricas y presentaciones artísticas que reflejaron el vibrante y unificador espíritu de la comunidad latina en Michigan.
