Desde su inicio en 2019, los Premios Talentos Latinos se han enfocado en celebrar y reconocer el talento latino emergente en Michigan, brindando un escenario para aquellos que inspiran a través de su trabajo y compromiso. Sin el apoyo continuo de líderes comunitarios como Alma Cruz, que representa al histórico Comité Patriótico Mexicano, y otras figuras destacadas de la comunidad, estos premios no habrían alcanzado el nivel de éxito y relevancia que tienen hoy en día.
El Comité Patriótico Mexicano, una organización con casi un siglo de historia en Detroit, ha jugado un rol fundamental en la preservación de las tradiciones y valores mexicanos en la ciudad, desde su creación en 1923. Formado para unir a los grupos de la comunidad y coordinar celebraciones de eventos patrióticos mexicanos como el Cinco de Mayo y el 16 de septiembre, el Comité se ha mantenido fiel a su misión original de promover el respeto por el país, la unidad y la libertad. Su influencia ha sido vital en el desarrollo y mantenimiento de la “Casa del Mexicano” y en la celebración de eventos cívicos a lo largo de los años, desde festivales hasta desfiles multiculturales.
En la edición 2024 de los Premios Talentos Latinos, la comunidad mexicana reafirmó su compromiso con estos valores de unidad, brindando su energía y colaboración para que esta celebración fuera posible. La reciente inclusión de Miss México Detroit como anfitriona subrayó el papel fundamental que el Comité Patriótico Mexicano sigue desempeñando, no solo como representante de la herencia mexicana, sino como un pilar en la celebración de los logros de la comunidad hispana en Detroit.

With Alma Cruz of the Mexican Patriotic Committee, Lisa Gonzalez and Miss Mexico Detroit as lead host, the ceremony was a powerful reminder of the cultural pride and unity that has been kept alive throughout the years.
Since its inception in 2019, the Latino Talent Awards have focused on celebrating and recognizing emerging Latino talent in Michigan, providing a stage for those who inspire through their work and commitment. Without the continued support of community leaders such as Alma Cruz, who represents the historic Mexican Patriotic Committee, and other prominent figures in the community, these awards would not have reached the level of success and relevance they have today.
The Mexican Patriotic Committee, an organization with nearly a century of history in Detroit, has played a pivotal role in preserving Mexican traditions and values in the city since its inception in 1923.
